Call for papers

The Steklov Institute of Mathematics in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the Technische Universität München organise the first common Winter School in St. Petersburg from February 16th through February 26th. It is financed by the Bavarian Ministry of Economics, by the Siemens AG and by the German organisation DAAD. The School addresses highly motivated and interested students. The courses demand active preparation and contribution of the participants. The courses are held in English language. Expenses for travel, board and lodging are covered by the School. Find further information in the Internet under http://logic.pdmi.ras.ru/grws. The selection of applicants is performed on the basis of their qualifications. It is made by the course lecturers.

 Topic: Trees in Combinatorics and Computer Science

Participants: 12 students with finished DVP resp. B.S., fields of study: informatics, mathematics

 Topic: Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation of Problems in Physics
Lecturers: Prof. Dr. V. M. Babich, Steklov Institute of Mathematics, St. Petersburg
Prof. Dr. Chr. Zenger, Institut für Informatik, Technische Universität München
Participants: 12 stud. with finished DVP resp. B.S., fields of study: mathematics, physics, engineering sciences.


Applications for participation at the Winter School should be sent to the respective course lecturer. Forms can be received from the course lecturers or from the organzing staff.
