It is planned to talk about the basic concepts for the Yang-Mills quantum theory in four-dimensional space-time. It is supposed to make a short historical review, introduce basic definitions, and also discuss such objects and properties as the Faddeev-Popov ghosts, the asymptotic freedom and the dimensional transmutation.
