Attractions
Listvyanka is a resort town, so it has a lot of attractions. Several tours will be organized but you may also visit something individually.
Planned guided tours
- Taltsy Museum of wooden architecture and ethnography, 20 km by bus from the conference site
- Chersky stone - a nice viewpoint on Baikal and surrounding mountains accessible by an air lift
- Baikal museum demonstrates unique features of Baikal lake and tells about history of Baikal expeditions. There is an aquarium inside
- Nerpinarium - trained Baikal seals show. Baikal seal (nerpas) is an endemic species of lake Baikal, they are trained to jump high like dolphins, play a ball, count from 1 to 5, draw pictures etc.
- Circum-Baikal historical railway, a beautiful railroad along the lake shore with a lot of tunnels and galleries. May be used as a transport from/to Irkutsk, We plan to organize a tour on July 18th

- Trekking to Bolshie Koty by the Great Baikal Trail (See a description of a possible route)
- Baikal Gem Museum - a small private museum close to the hotel
- Retro Park - a private museum of retro automobiles and metal craftwork
- Two fish markets - smoke-cured and smoke-fried omul, grayling, lake herring and other kinds of fish
- "Theatre of bard songs" - a concert hall devoted to Russian `bard' music
- Vladimir Plamenevsky Art gallery
- Baikal solar telescope (the biggest in Russia)
