Visa
In order to enter Russia most CSR 2014 participants will need a visa (this depends on the nationality and agreements between the countries). Unfortunately, obtaining a Russian visa is a much more lengthy process than with many other countries. Moreover, one of the most important and time consuming steps is to produce an invitation letter that in many cases you will need to have in hardcopy. This should be done way BEFORE you go to the embassy, so please as soon as you decide to go to CSR 2014 do three simple steps, so we can start producing an invitation for you. We highly recommend to do this before March 15, especially for citizens of non-Schengen countries. This should not take more than 15 minutes of your office time.
1. Check that your passport is valid for at least 180 days after you leave Russia. If this is not the case you need to obtain a new passport in order to get a visa.
2. Fill in and send us the following form. This is just one page of simple passport data.
3. Send a scan of your passport (the page with the photo) to our conference address: csr2014@googlegroups.com.
As soon as we receive the information, we will start arranging an official invitation letter suitable for the Russian consulate where you are going to apply for your visa. Note that sometimes producing an official invitation takes a lot of time. The letter will be sent to you in hardcopy and you will apply with it to the Russian consulate.
Note, that even if your citizenship permits you to enter Russia without a visa it is recommended to have an invitation letter from us when you cross the border.
